Old to New 1989 K5 Blazer
Hey everyone! I have a bunch of questions and hope to get a few answered here.. I have purchased a 1989 Blazer from my dad and it has some sentimental value to it.. My dad bought it in 1990 brand new and it was the first new vehicle he ever bought, then years later it was what i learned to drive on. Now that i own it I plan to restore it and do some modifications to it. I am completely going over the whole body and getting rid of all the rust, that leads to my first question, I plan on ordering all my body/replacement panels from LMC.. Is that a good choice? Next I want to put a lift on the Blazer and I would like to get 35in tires on it, so would a 4in life be big enough? what is a descent lift? I have a 3:42 gear ratio is that a good ration or should I do something else?

as far as LMC goes .. LMC is a great choice for replacement parts. I'm not too sure on the K5 tech questions other than that but there are others very knowledgeable in the K5s who can answer them .. oh and WELCOME!

Great and thanks for the reply.... I've used LMC before but never on a large order so i wasn't sure how they were... and its a pleasure to be here.... Matt

A 4 inch lift is high enough for 35's. Ours is set up that way and we've never had a problem both on and off road with rubbing and such. But as far as the grears go I read somewhere that it should have at least 4:11's but I may be wrong. Ours has stock gears in it and they're 3:08's.
