Is it possible to do??????
IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIT 33'S WITH ONLY FOUR INCHES OF TOTAL LIFT ON MY 03:icon_shrug:....... IF IT IS IM SO GOING TO DO IT:icon_cool:.......
youll have to do ALOT of trimming
You could actually fit them with very little lift...
providing you open your wheel wells and gut them considerably. |
could you be more descriptive in the words of gutting my wheel wells?
take your choice of cutting tool and BFH then go to town on your fenders. you could also remove your inner fender liner, but i wouldnt suggest that because who knows what youll kick up into your engine bay. i would also suggest going with a 32 youll still have to trim but it wont be as bad as the 33's.
even using some wheel spacers wouldnt help? i had plans of getting some spacers to widen the stance.
spacers would make the fender rubbing issue worse, itll help to stop from rubbing the frame or sway bar but youll have to trim even more of your fenders.
so if i go with 32x10.5 that wont require as much chopping??????
anything is possible. But like they said 33s would require a lot of trimming. I have roughly 9in of lift and my 33s still rub a little on the trails. But they are 12.5in wide and i have offset wheels. If you stay with stock wheels 32s will fit with a little trimming.

My ZR2 is lifted 2" with 33x12.5 and 33x14 and no issues... Front bumper needed to be trimmed...

Actually, ZR2's sit about 3" higher than non-Z's, stock to stock.

sortin through it, theres allot of sound advice here. I have a 4 door.. Read: NON-ZR2 with 2" Body and 1.5" Suspension I Fit a set of 30x10.5s with a little rub... then I went from 6" Backspace (Stock) to 3-15/16" backspace FENDER TRIM City..... I cut a SOLID 2" from behind the wheel. I had a body shop do it, so it looks really nice :) |

What would be the best street/occasional mud tire?? I will have to commute about 60 miles every weekend and then get to play a little bit.... Also its a stock 98 4dr I thought this was kinda on topic.... But I am curious to see how they fit and if they rub... Crazy idea... Smaller rims... and still big tires? |
i have a rough country lift on my 00 jimmy and im running a 32.5x10.5 tire with minimum rubbing when i have the tbars cranked all the way on the trails... i am running ion alloy 15x9 inch rim with 4 inches of backspacing... i had to take off my fender cladding and hammer in the fender a little bit along with cutting off a peice of my inner fender to run them with my tbars not cranked all the way... but i also have zr2 rbars... i a little over 3 inches of lift in the frint with them way cranked but usually run them on the street turned down to 1.5 inches... the tires im using are dakota m/ts that are great for general street use with weekend trail visits... i have yet to get stuck and i have went through water wholes that came up my dooor handles.. and they where relitivly cheap tires... 120 a peice from pepboys.. buy 3 get one free... i cant complain about the setup im running at all..
