Thank you! Glad you like it.

I just looked and the nav module is a $650 addition on crutchfield, which would be cheaper than the dealerships price I'm sure.

I do have nav on my blackberry which has proven handy many times before, and if I had an Iphone I could connect it, with the phones cheap nav onto the touchscreen, but sadly I have my berry.

I also might go with the DDX318. Same system minus Bluetooth. It's only $40 cheaper, but I don't need Bluetooth, and every review says that Bluetooth is awful on it. So might be worth it to skip that trouble and save myself some of the cost of other parts. I'm hoping I can install it myself.

Well I've been busy lately. Not only with the Blazer but with life too.

I got fully accepted into college for my "Engineering Design and Drafting Technology" course that I'll be taking for the next 2 years. I also now have a place to live in the city too. I'm staying with a friend who is taking the exact same course, which should work great for homework, etc. His parents just bought him a condo close to the school, so that works out great for me. Cheap rent for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo!

On the Blazer this week I got an alarm system installed, then my touchscreen installed. Today I changed the HVAC controls to blue too. Last night the rain set off my alarm twice, until I disabled it and left it off, so I'll have to get that checked out.

I'll get some pics up soon hopefully. Heading up to the lake now!

Congrats! I'm guessing you're going to Saskatoon. Have fun up there, once I get a rig around here, just moved to Kindersley for work, I might have to enlist you for some offroading fun

We'll I'm actually heading the other way to Edmonton! But if I or you are in the same area, I'm down!

Here are the pics of the new headunit installed.

Always a helpful video when taking the dash apart, thanks to Pat (Oktain):

Installed:

On:

I'll get some night shots tonight of the blue lights lit up. I'm going to the alarm shop tomorrow regarding it going off because of rain hitting it, but looks like I have another problem too add. I was driving back from the lake and the doors kept locking. Every 5 seconds or so they would lock and the dome light would come on. Hasn't happened again yet, dunno what that was all about.

Camping was good though! Got to see some friends and camp in the back of the Blazer all weekend! Pretty comfy with a few sleeping bags, no ants, no sand, very dry. I may get a large piece of memory foam and cut it to fit around the wheel wells, that would be real comfy!

New headunit looks good, I plan on visiting some family and friends in Edmonton eventually anyway and I likely won't be getting a rig out here until closer to next summer, I'm thinking of springing for a new SVT Raptor as much as it pains me to switch to Ford but it still depends on what a new Silverado Z71 is like. Either way some off roading fun will have to be had sometime in the future

Sounds good! I'm hoping the new Z71's have some nice improvements!
