I think more than anything the reason i won't do a SAS is because I don't have the equipment or knowledge on how to fabricate stuff to make it work. Nor do i have the time with 2 boys below 2yrs old.. :icon_bubbles: Trust me I completely understand the young children and no time thing! If I didn't have a job that allowed me free time to work on my truck it would still be stock lol! |
Just an update on the lift shackles... I found a college student (He's gong for automotive repair) who wants experience and said he would install my shackles for $50 and a 6-pack of beer lol (Yes he is 21, i checked his ID ;) ) I'm so happy i dont have to install them..I dont have the time but want them done badly.

If you are just trying to get a little base and not be "annoying". I would go sealed on the box.

Sealed boxes also require less space.

Update on the shackles: The kid i had doing it finished it today, he had to burn out the bushings and cut the old shackles in half.. He still only wanted $50 including new bolts and bushings.... I gave him an extra six-pack tho to cover the added difficulty.. Tonight i'll crank up the torsion bars about an inch or so and shes done.
|
He had 6 hours of time into swapping out the shackles.

After the 2in shackles and cranked up the T-Bars about 1.5in. I like how this looks but may want to add a couple more inches next summer.

Got my jack mounted... Not 100% sure if i like the location but that was the only place my mounts would work. May build some other mount next summer when it warms up.

Well, I will be picking up in the next couple of days a set of BF Goodrich AT in 31x10.5 R15 for $200! They have 75% tread left. I think that $200 is a great price.
