Default Refinishing and Mounting a Spare Tire Carrier

So, I bought this spare tire carrier and some other parts from someone of craigslist for $40 with the intention of putting it on my 4 door Jimmy. Since as far as I can tell, nobody has done a build thread on it, I decided I'd give it a whirl. More updates to come as work progresses, this is what is done so far...

The day I brought the stuff home.

I had to use a grinder and borrow a sandblaster from a neighbor but I got all the rust and scratches out the best I could. Now it's ready for some primer.

All the primer on and ready for the truck bed coating (it was kind of dark by the time I finished).

Did the same thing except I painted mine. Wish I would have undercoated it.

Thanks, I was actually debating on whether or not I was going to paint or liner it after the primer yesterday. I think I wll stick with the bed liner.

Sorry to say, but this build may be on hold for a few months. I leave for school in a few days and I can't take my tools with me. I would have time to finish it but of course, the Jimmy's in the shop getting ready for the 550 mile trip to school. I'll stay hopeful, but who knows?

uhg don't remind me of school... I have to go back on the 30th... I'm trying to get my last minute projects done as well. I put my rack on in one night... but it would have been better during the day, more light and the hardware store would be open. I lost probably 3 or 4 nuts trying to get them threaded
