Well then I'm out of ideas. Hopefully someone else can help.

use a saw zaw that is what I had to do get to most the the bolts off on my 4runner.... or if you have an impact gun, I impacted my torsion keys, I never have taken them off thou so I'm not exactly sure how to do that

Mike98Blazer Nov 18, 2011 11:51 AM

If you're going to use the new torsion keys that came with the kit then you should be able to cut them with a sawzall and grinder to get them off. Just be careful not to damage the bar itself. As far as getting the bar out of the lower control arm lots of patience and a bfh.

the keys are kinda tight in the crossmember but i'd try anything at this point

2001sls, I had your same problem, I was pounding at them for hours, the solution is heat, after you get keys nice and hot the torsion bars practically slide out themselves

Can anyone thats done this lift post a pic of how their front diff sits with the drop bracket or give an idea of how much its actually lowered it? Also how are the axles sitting with the lift because after a normal tbar crank im tired of going through axle boots and hubs from the axles being at too much of an angle and extremely curious to see if the front drop helps!

El Diablo793 Nov 21, 2011 12:53 PM

Just for reference, mine, with all of the new parts on it and the new kit rides stiff. The diff. Drop really doesn't drop it all that much. My front from hub sits at 21"- back at 22". I'm curious as to whether I'm topping, or bottoming something out because over some bumps at around 45mph it feels like the front tires lift off of the ground...maybe because I should get a steering stabilizer? I don't know. You will probably experience it too in time. Anyways, I took it on a 45 mile trip this weekend. It drove pretty dang well, just the bumps and I constantly check my cv's. I'm way paranoid now.

Do you guys know if ill be able to achieve this look with the rough country kit? Im a noob to all these so please be kind.

Mike98Blazer Nov 21, 2011 07:04 PM

you should be able to achieve that look by not replacing the rear shackles with the lifted ones
