With mine, im just going big with the whole kit when I get it. Even though I have to buy a tool to unload the keys (There are other methods that involve C-clamps, but I dont want much of a headache). As for the driveshaft, I think it'll be a non-issue. Im pretty excited for the shocks though! -my only problem is finding someone to put it on.

gatorboy44 11-04-2011 10:51 AM

A five ton puller will do the same as a tbar clamp, and it's probably more safe.

El Diablo793 11-04-2011 12:20 PM

Its official- just bought it and will have it put on by Muffler Man next week or as soon as it gets here. I verified that they can also cut the mounting tab off of the front diff. so I would reccomend that if you have a muffler man by you, try getting it dont through them. Hope this helps and I will put up pics asap as well! =]

[quote=Bigringtravis;470171]I'm more interested in the Alignment numbers/Durability of the kit. Their last one was a joke at the alignment shop.[quote]

I second that...EVERY thousand miles, my driver side wheel would look as if it were to fall off!!! Every other week, back to the shop! Which costwise was no problem...sears has a warranty :icon_teeth: The 6th time I had it aligned, I told the tech "Hey listen, I drive 400+ miles a week. This is getting old for me; I see you guys more than I see my own family! I don't care what you have to do to fix this mess, spit on it...hit it with a f#@!*^% hammer, just fix it!"

((knock on wood...2k miles later, and my wheels are still on?!?!))

Oh, and if it helps, I COVERED my front end in red loctite after my last alignment. When I say covered, I EMPTIED a tube per side, on EVERYTHING!!!

Irocz327 11-06-2011 11:58 PM

I live in Cedar Rapids but get down to DSM alot! because my fiancee's folks live down there near hoover high school.

Also.. To the guys that have done the RC 2"BL theirselves.. Is there any issues you ran into on your install's that I should keep an eye out for this wkend when I'm doing my RC 2.5"BL (Bad Directions/pics in the manual or parts going on or coming off the truck that were a major pain/how'd you solve the problem, or tools basic or speacialty that would make things easiar or are a nessesitcy) ?

Right on. You will have to let me know when you are down this way again. I wouldn't mind checking out your Bravada. You might appreciate my project car I just picked up as well. A 2001 Z28 with a blown motor. This is my fourth 4th Gen Camaro. Had to sell my 2000 SS last fall to buy my house, but I am back in the game now.

Irocz327 11-09-2011 12:18 PM

No prob! & Nice! I've gotta 86' Irocz Camaro that I'm slowly working on on the side when I have time. Gotta finish building the 400 right now.

Prepare for some pictures. Lift is on, getting an alignment, stop for pics, go home, get tires, go to Totten Tire, get those bitchezzz mounted and then more pics...all followed by an upload.
P.S. The shop installing it said that it all went on smooth as pie and the front diff. was not a problem at all!

TheRandom1 11-09-2011 01:49 PM

All good news so far. Can't wait to see the pics!

rocpede4x4 11-09-2011 04:23 PM

cochran07 11-09-2011 04:39 PM

I think in January Im going to order this lift if it gets good reviews from ya over the next few months. I need new everything on the front end so this helps on some of that.

Well I am buying that kit, it looks dang good

pj5454302 11-09-2011 06:26 PM

looks sweet, need more pics in the morning!!!!

El Diablo793 11-09-2011 06:26 PM

Ill take more pictures tomorrow when it is bright out- I ALMOST got away with getting my tires mounted tonight, but when I took it back to the shop the guy told me the inevitable- either put the body lift on, or get different wheels. New wheels would be cheaper, but I need some with a stock offset- some that are chrome witha hint of black and 15". Either 15x7 or 15x8, and have a little bit more offset than stockers. But back to the topic- Definately will take pictures of the suspension, and all that jazz tomorrow! =]

Benedict1337 11-09-2011 06:30 PM

what are you going for 33's? I just get some steel wheels either cragars or pro comps. but if you are trying to run 33's you will need a body lift no matter what wheels you try to run

Noooo! hahaa! I have new 31" Cooper Discoverer STT's. Just the rims that I have have a rediculous offset.

OOOOOOO Perty. Question for ya, the stabilizer kit, can that be installed without the 2.5" kit or do you have to have the lift first? Reason i ask is i get HELLA bump steer from my mud tires.

I don't believe soo....., Mine was an option w/ the RC kit but here it is seperate.Rough Country 87324 Big Bore Steering Stabilizer

1997 Gmc Jimmy 11-10-2011 02:12 PM

did the add-a-leaf come with the kit?

El Diablo793 11-10-2011 04:08 PM

ATTENTION: As you know I put this lift on yesterday. It is giving me ALL sorts of problems in the front. I (with 31's) am hitting the frame on stock rims at full turn. Not good. Also, my torsion bars MUST be worn out because I STILL had to drive the bolts to their entirety for the keys. I don't know what to do. Run a spacer, rub the body...clear the frame potentially. It sits quite level, so I don't understand. I now need another alignment after cranking the bars. Woop-eee.

pj5454302 11-10-2011 08:24 PM

im guessing that your tbars(like mine) are worn out

gatorboy44 11-10-2011 09:20 PM

One of my tbars is brand new, the other is worn and maxed out :(
