Steelrfn's triple threat build thread
Today was a good news/bad news day.
On the good news, beauty is now bed lined, and I am happy with the look:

Did all across the body line at the rear and the whole rear bumper as well:

And while I was at it I shot those stupid window edges:

And the bad news?
That push bar I picked up for $40 would look like crap even if I managed to get it safely and securely mounted on my 2000's.
Good news there too, it fits my sons 91 like a glove, so he gets it for free.

The problem is actually that the grill is busted, the only thing holding it in is two screws at the top.
I am going to pick up a new one for it as soon as I find a decent one in a scrapyard.

Headlights don't mount into the grille though and it looks as though you missed the two tabs at the bottom of the lights that slide into the rad core support. It'll cause your lights to be aimed too high and likely shake around while you're driving at night.
BTW, I like the bedlined look of your 2 trucks. Keep up the work and posting your progress.

Thanks for the compliments, and believe me, I am just getting started
As far as the headlights, I double checked them, I think the weird look is a combo of them being the cheapest halos off ebay and the fact that the grill is actually sitting flush on the bumper.
Oh, and warthog, I noticed the tire carrier too
My plan is to remove the brush guard and grill, then black out the front and do the tire carrier, grill, and the cross members for the luggage rack off the truck.

Check out this link and don't take it personally, it's a common error.
Here's a picture of the lower tabs:

Like I said, the grill on that truck has all the tabs broken off so the previous owner just put two screws into the upper edge to keep it from falling out. Since the screws don't support the weight off the whole piece very well, and there's a crack on the drivers side, the result is that the grill sits much lower than it should, especially on that side.
Also, the lights are ebay specials, and in order for the low beams to align properly, they have to be pointed up higher than stock.
I am eyeing some black euro style headlights for beauty, and will most likely put Beauty's stockers in beast, unless maybe there's some way to realign the low beam lights in those aftermarket units? I looked it over and didn't see anything... might be time to pull them out and recheck.
It sucks too, because they are so bright that people are constantly flashing their lights at me

Here's a little bit of farmers ingenuity I used on Beast.
The problem:
The hinge side pin had cracked almost in half and the detent wheel had rusted off anyway.
The solution:

I finished off snapping the old pin and put a bolt up through the whole with washers to account for the detent wheel. Since the bottom hole was larger to accept the wider end of the pin, I drilled that portion out and slid it onto the bolt as well. It made getting the new spring in a bear, (I actually had to pay to buy the proper tool
), but I think the results are worth it.
*And I just noticed the missing bolt for the fender.... I am 99% sure it wasn't missing when I was working on the door.
