After a few phone calls, I found that we can buy remanufactured units by the thousands direct from Dearborn Axle in Warren MI. They cost me - are you ready for this!? $29.99 each. (to my door: no duty, no taxes, no brokerage fees)
i guess i got lucky with my plug when i did mine. i just lifted the tab with mt thumb, and pushed the truck side of the plug off, then i was able to slide the hub side of the plug off the frame clip. didn't break any of it, 'cause that's what always happens when i touch them.
mind you, i soon realized when i put the new one on, that it comes with a new frame clip!
from the look of those pic's you posted, it's the "wrought iron railing" powder coating finish. pretty tough. looks good too.
not at all. it's always fun to go back, see how you did on a project, see all the stuff you "learned".
i find it amazing that he's posting this stuff as he's doing it!
when i get on a roll, i hate stopping to take pic's, never mind posting the stuff on here!
which is why i had to remove my grill/HL's when i did my HID kit, so i could take some pic's-after i was done.
