just thought i would check with everybody but, is my signature too big? 691x280 is a little large. if anybody has any problems scrolling side-to-side or up-and-down. let me know. when i made it, it was like 1100px wide. i resized it as small as i could without it looking real grainy and blurry.

While we are on the subject, we really should come up with some kind of a standard size. otnietdehoooo, yours is on the large size. I would say that if it going to be that big, you should be able to incorporate all of the text you have into it as well.

Signature size should include any text. 640 pixels wide should be the maximum width. For height, around 200 pixels including text if used outside of the picture.

With any of my previous sigs, I had kept it to 1 text link for my first name and then I would have around 184 pixels for the height of my sig picture (trying to stick to a 200 pixel overall height). The normal sized font used here is around 16 pixels high. If you have 5 lines of text, then you would have 120 pixels for the picture.

The main reason why I bring this up is that it isn't only the width of some signatures that gets out of hand, but also the height. Long sigs add to the overall length of each thread page, but add very little to the thread itself.

I came up with the 200 pixels by posting a single line test message without my signature and measuring the space that was void under that line. I believe that my side bar is about as long as they come and is what dictates the minimum height of the single line post. Without an avatar, it gets shorter.

At least there's not many people browsing the web @ 640x480 anymore

I just updated my sig... lol.

You get a fair amount of room to play with, sig wise here...

Ok, got the pixel limits down-640x200 including text if separate. What about file size? I know on another forum the moderators only allow 19KB and on another they want it below 500KB. The higher file size was for the animated ones.
