The ECU will be fine , What this does is in a sense gives you a bigger cam, opens your valves a little more than usual, when the valves open more ,more air is taken in with less restriction, like opening a door a little for a breeze , or a lot, for more air. more HP! Is what you get! Think of an intake then a exhaust, then a hypertech chip, you will have more HP!

What I find absolutely hilarious is I just found this site, I just registered, my first post was going to be has anyone tried 1.6 rockers on a 1998 and later 4.3, and my name here is 2000BlazerSS. Then I found this post with this reply, by BlazerSS.
But nonetheless I'll repeat the question, has anyone tried 1.6's?.

I have run 1.6 roller tips and 1.6 full rockers for over two years. There is more than enough piston clearence. And you will get a real performance gain , not like stupid fly by night things that will and can ruin your performance. But what you have to remember is that real performance can only be had with work.As in engine part replacements! Not by adding a turbinator! The 1.6's set you up for more gains when you add more performmance parts.

Yes, you have roller trunions. You do not have full roller rockers. Your tips are still fixed. They have not been fully updated by GM because of cost. (Save a penny here and there.). Why does it seem that every time that GM gets a model right , they end production. ie; Impala, Allante, Fiero, Camaro, and so on.

The internals is where real power is made. A engine really is nothing more than a air pump. Getting air in and out as efficiently as possible is where the power is made. CAI's and headers and less restrictive exhausts are good , and do need to be installed, but less friction, more combustion, and volumn and also less restriction is where HP is made.
