No buying a used rebuilt locally. The guy seems trustworthy and the motor looks in good shape, pulled the valve covers and when I get it will pull the pan too. Just can't spend the money to build the motor I had planned originally. Well the engine I'm getting has about 8K km on it, 30 over, edelbrock gear drive, rv cam, head work, balanced, all that good stuff, weiand intake and a 780cfm holley. $1100 which is about 1/4 the amount I would have spent to rebuild mine.

Hah nice plates. I'll be hated by the die hard chevy guys as I actually painted over the chevy orange that it was. You'll see once I am done with it, but it's basic. I think I am going to buy a different intake for it and powder coat it. I want to have it running as soon as possible, which could be within a couple weeks. I'm just waiting on some suspension parts to come in from summit. I would like to be able to drive it by May as well though. Then over the summer I will work on the body work. It needs a lot of work, but I want to be able to drive it first. I've had all the swap parts for months now though. So it's just a matter of putting it together.

I live in NC and the state gov't are trying to make it law that we have to put two plates on our cars. Until now it was optional, so naturally, everyone has one, LOL. I guess its gonna put the airbrush guy down the road out of buisness if it passes.

Anyway,do you need to move the transmission back to accomidate the v8?. Looks like you would have to do some frame mod. I was thinking about putting the 305 in my 2000 but ithas so much stuff under the hood, and so much of it would have to be moved, I said screw it I'm keeping the262.

BTW Congrats to perry on ROTM.
