In my personal opinion I like the 4.3 vin w . I have a 94 s10 blazer 4x4 and it has plenty of power I 've had this blazer going well over 100 miles a hour witch is faster than my buddys pos Accura integra . But I will be doing a SAS soon and bigger tires so I will be going with either a 305 or 350 not sure yet .

I think it would be tight to do something like this with a 4.3 but would probably cost a ton.

edit just noticed someone already posted the video I was talking about.

Yup, even the pre-programmed PCM & I believe Al at Wynjammer has them listed for $2557 USD but may be less if you get your PCM flashed for the needed fuel & extra air (6 psi). That being said you probably will need to get the upgraded spider assy. $450 from Al, for the extra fuel needed so it doesn't lean out under load or at higher revs. Mine leaned out at 4500+- & also under load while hauling the boat at highway speed. But it does move like hell with the extra 40 or so HP at the wheels.

I'd like my blazer to sound like those...and I'll be saving up money for the vortec heads and head work, the cam, the headers, tune, etc.

I have put a lot of timebin money in my blazer and if your looking for power its not going to be cheap. I have almost 4k invested in my motor and still not putting 300hp to the wheels. I've replaced about 95% of my motor with performance parts and I'm putting down 265hp to the tires.

Oh and for cams I'm running the comp cam.

I will be supercharging and adding spray soon. Looking to punch out around 400hp

J rob, that makes me sad. I was going to pick up a used 4.3 from somewhere, and throw a cam in it, get it cleaned, new pistons and such, and i was hoping for 300hp.... guess thats not going to happen =(

yeah my quest for 400+ naturally aspirated horsepower is not gonna be happening with a 4.3L I'm gonna get a LS v8 like a 5.3L and run with that.
