4x4 conversion

I have a 95 4-door with 2-wheel drive and was would be involved in coverting it to 4-wheel drive.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the site.

Tranny- Convert your 2wdr to 4wdr by swapping the output shaft and tailhousing to the t-case adapter, or replace teh tranny with a 4x4 unit.

T-case- you'll need one. Plus you will need to modify or maove your current tranny cross brace. Plus you will need a front driveshaft and shorten your rear driveshaft.

I wouldn't even mess with a factory S10 front axle set-up. I would instead cut all the IFS stuff out and install a solid front axle. Check out this site for more info.

the tranny output shaft is different lengths from the 2wd to the 4wd so an entire new tranny would be in order.....also alot of other stuff...you'd be better off selling your 2wd and buying a 4wd

I could make a pretty strong case against that. Depends on how he intends to use the truck once its a 4x4. But if he is just looking for a factory set-up. Your right, sell it and buy a 4x4.

I converted mine to a 2wd. I removed the front driveshaft. I want to see if I can get 1/2 mpg increase. 40 miles so far and no difference.

Ummm. the front dirveshaft doesn't spin when the truck is in 2wdr. If you want to gain mpg, you need to remove the center chunk in the front axle. :D
