Default CAI question

My friend is thinking of buying this kit for a 1998 Blazer 4.3 4x4 4dr.

Will he need to buy a new mass air flow sensor?

Cause this CAI looks like it comes with a new Mass air flow sensor...

Neither comes with a new MAF. You use your stock one for both. Not sure why the second one depicts one but if it did it would be way more than $266ish. MAFs are expensive!

So whats the difference between the two? Why such a big price difference? Did you guys get better MPG, torque and HP?

They're made by different companies. Each company has its own slight differences in the design. I'd say go with the cheaper one, pretty sure the Summit one won't give you $150 more performance.

You do get better mileage/Tq/HP to a certain extent with a CAI. They allow more air to flow into the engine, as well as keeping the air close to ambient temperature. To get the most out of it you need to open up the exhaust as well like with a performance muffler.
