Intake Minifold Broblem/Head Gasket
I have a 4.3L Vortec V6 on my 95 S10 Blazer, I was in the middle of replacing the head gaskets when I took of the top part of the Intake Manifold. Inside the manifold was a mixture of Dex-Cool/Oil/Gas (maybe not Dex-Cool). The spark plugs on both sides of the motor are covered in oil. I have not done a compression test but could there be a blown piston ring? or am I missing something?

RE: Intake Minifold Broblem/Head Gasket
Looks like you have a faulty fuel pressure regulator... That does not look like coolant to me... Are all of your fuel lines still intact (ie can you pressurize the system to check for leaks)?
Why are you suspecting a bad piston ring? How did the compression test go? What were the results? Worn valve seals can cause excessive oil to enter the combustion chamber and can foul the spark plugs as can a sludged up oil scraping ring on the piston. I'd get that stuff soaked up and then test the fuel system for leaks. |
