I was reading up on the Blazer yesterday and found some information that suggested installing an oil filter with a check valve to resolve an internal engine noise.

Anyone know anything about this? And, which oil filters have a check valve?

 

The best filters have check valves to prevent oil from draining out of the filter while the car is sitting. Many also have bypass valves to permit oil to bypass the filter if it gets plugged.

I can't cite filters with both kinds of valves, other than Amsoil - but there are others.
