Default 10 sec then Full Rev, no movement

It's been awhile. Last time I posted something in here, I tore a tranny out of the Red '98 Jimmy. Put a newer 90k mile trans in it. Don't remember how long it's been, but now I'm having issues with it too.

Never heard of this happening but maybe one of you have. So basically, when I start it up, I have about 10 seconds to drive it before it just revs and doesn't go anywhere. Full Rev, no movement. During those 10 seconds, it has every bit of power and will still squeal tires if you tromp on it. It's never slipped before and that's kinda extreme.

I can shut it off for a minute, start it back up and get another 10 seconds. Yes, it has fluid. Made no noises aside from my squealing breaks and the wheel bearing. All I know, haven't driven it since I got it home about a week ago.

Was thinking solenoids are shot but I don't know enough about transmissions to make an accurate guess. Any help is appreciated

Still nothing? Nobody irl can figure it out and I really don't have the cash to pay someone to look at it. This vehicle is my only legal one and is my lifeline. OBD scanner comes up clean aside from what I already know is broke

Clutches burn up and material goes into pan. Then gets sucked onto the filter, impeding flow to the pump. Shut it off - some material falls off. Run it again it it quickly plugs it again. This is my guess. Happened to me many years back on my Blazer - but I would get about a block before trans would start howling and no go. But engine was completely warmed up and fluid was thinned out.

Well that’s what it was, a clogged filter. Drained, flushed and replaced the filter and it drives and shifts perfect. Thanks again guys !

Glad it's working again. Just remember you will have trouble with the transmission later due to the burnt clutches.
