1994 s10 blazer engine swap

i just got a 94 s10 blazer with a bad engine and was gonna swap it with one from a 97. there the same engines (4.3 vortec) but they look different. could someone eplain why that is

92-94
95
96+

Your options are a 92-94 CPI (VIN W) motor only. The '97 is not compatible without a lot of work. The 94 is an OBD 1 vehicle while the 97 is an OBD II vehicle. Sensors are different, etc.

ok thanks. would you happen to know if the enternals where the same so that maybe the parts could be used 2 fix up the 94 vortec

The heads are different, the injectors and manifold setup are different....

Umm, I'm not sure much interchanges.

now I have a 95 jimmy and i bought a 94 4.3l and everything hooked up the exact same. But now when I am tryin to start my truck I am not getting spark out of the coil to the distributor
