1995 4l60e
Hey everyone, can someone tel me what years of the 4L60E transmision will fit on my 1995 Blazer 4x4?

1995 was a wierd year for the blazer ( new body style, OBD1.5, Same 4.3L CPI motor ) and on that note.....a 1995 tranny is the ony one that will work.

Thanks for the reply! I am going to install a 2" body lift when I remove my tranny, do you think it will help with the removal of the top mounting bolts?
#4
A 2" BL will definitely help!

a body lift will give you more clearance for the bellhousing bolts so it should work out for the better....post up some picsw of your progress.....we all want to see!

Thanks for the help! I am not looking forward to the project but I will take some pics. I just need to find a good rebuilt tranny or someone reliable to build mine. It drove to work beautiful one day and on the way home I lost 3-4. I dropped the pan, installed drain bolt replaced the filter, flushed and added some lucas with no change. I love the truck so after 296,000 miles I guess I owe it a new tranny!

wow! almost 300K on the truck! Very nice!

When you changed the fluid and filter, was there a significant amount of metal in the pan? If not, it simply could be the shift solenoid...much cheaper and easier than a tranny rebuild.
#9
Hardly any metal on the magnet, fluid was brown but didn't smell burnt. Can the solenoid be checked without pulling the pan?

Anybody ever bought a tranny from autozone or a parts house? I have found some deals but I have a hard time trusting a good price.
