1995 blazer, need help tranny!
#1
The transmission of my 1995 blazer 4.3 vortec 4wd is gone, so i've purchased another 4l60E. When i compare these trannies, they are not the same. Mine is a 1 piece, and the new one is a 2 piece. The bellhousing is different, and i cant swap the bellhousings since my old trans is a 1 piece! What do i have to do to make this work?
I'm in deep **** if i can't get the car running soon, i'm grateful for all response!
Btw, i forgot. The back of the trannies looks alot the same, don't think there will be a problem hooking up the transfer case

It should bolt up just the same as your original transmission with the exception of the dust cover. You may want to find a dust cover from the '96 or '97 model trucks that came with the stamped steel engine oil pan and the 2-piece bell housing.
Look closely at the bolt pattern in the back. Many of the newer two piece cases came with a 6 bolt pattern in the back that makes it incompatible with the transfer case adapter from the older 4 bolt pattern. You should be able to use a transfer case adapter from a newer s-series truck to made your transfer case to the newer 6 bolt pattern if necessary.
One other thing that you will want to be sure to check is the pump front cover. If the new transmission pump cover (behind the torque converter) has PWM on it, your old one needs to have it as well. If yours does not have PWM, then the newer PWM transmission will not work.

Hi these two transmission cases are not compatible.
different cases, all the two piece bellhousings use the old 700R4/ 4L60e 4 bolt
tailhousing, also the new ones are larger and use 5 bolts to attach trans case.
What year is the two piece bellhousing trans.
Looked in my ATSG books and the 1995 was a one year only trans for electric wiring, valve body, seperator plate. Check the front pumps.
but the hard parts will change over, you'll have to tear both of them down.
