Default 1997 s-10 blazer

so i can get a hold of a free 1997 s10 blazer for free but it needs a tranny. I found a 700r tranny with a transfer case for 100 bucks and wondering if this would fit or not

It will likely bolt up, but your PCM may not be happy about not having the electrical controls it used to have with the 4L60E it was originally equiped with.

Regardless of the year, 95 or 97, you need a 4L60E transmission. Being a '97, you want to look for a '96 or newer transmission. You need to look at what you currently have and determine if it has the removable (full circle) bell housing as well as whether it has 4 or 6 bolts between the back of the transmission and the transfer case adapter.
