Default 1998 Bravada engine interchange?

i have a 1998 Olds Bravada with the 4.3 that overheated, so i know at the very least the head gaskets are shot. a friend of mine told me that he has a 91 S-10 blazer with the 4.3 that i could have to get my olds back on the road. My big question is do the engines interchange? I would be using my intake because shortly before the "cooking" I put a new fuel spider in

Short answer is no. You need a 96+ engine for your truck.

What happens when it overheats? P.O. has lots of receipts in the glove box from shops because of overheating or something. I flushed system and replaced thermostat and have not had a problem. I also removed the plastic air diverters in the front as well though.

What happens when an engine overheats depends on how hot things were. If the vehicle is stopped quickly, no real damage will occur. But if it is driven while the coolant is boiling off, the heads and sometimes block can be permanently damaged.
