Default 2 door 98 blazer ls transmission

Hi I have a 98 blazer about 190k miles I bought it in February 2015 but I just recently started driving it because I didn't have my license. I replaced the battery I had to change the locks I put a new fuel pump fuel filter changed the oil and oil filter bought a new windshield and hood because the windshield was cracked and the hood was banged up I put shocks for the rear windshield I bought a new heater core since it didn't have one I replaced dashboard because it was cracked and broken I replaced the drivers window motor and regulator I have the passenger motor and regulator just haven't had time to put it on but my question is: Should I replace the transmission? My dad is a mechanic and has been all his life and he told me when the transmission has old fluid that has been there a long time it's not worth changing because then that's when you'll have problems

your dad is right. Dont do it. Basically the crud is keeping everything working. New fluid has a detergent in it and will clean the crud of off everything and it may start slipping. How do i know this? Changed my fluid three years ago and the tranny went 2 weeks later. slipping clutch pack plates

So should I replace the tranny all together or just leave it alone?

Like newguy said"If it aint broke..Leave it along!"If you have the funds in doing a transmission replace..Go for it.But I`m sure with todays economy ,no one has money to blow .
