2000 Blazer Ls w/off road pkg
4.3 56,0000 miles
Hello everyone First time noob here
Im going to attack this thing this weekend
I picked up this truck in April
it needed some tlc so i gave it some
I got it running like new cleened it up its looking good
it needed tires it took me a little wile but I got some nice tires on her now
I originaly thought the tires were the reason that the front axle wouldn't lock in because there were old tires
(the kid I got the truck off of took his rims and tires for his friends truck)
Well now I have the new tires on it and the front axle still won't kick in
I have a 4 button switch on the dash 2HI 4HI 4LO 4Auto
when I hit the button in any of them I can here and feel the T/C shift but the button blinks it will blink forever till i push it in to 2Hi again im planing on checking and replaceing all vacume hoses and going over all the wiring and replaceing the 4x4 switch because I have 1
is there any thing that you guys/gals can recomend or know of that will same me time that I should check first
Im sure 1 or 50 of youz have come acrossed this 1 or 100 times
Thanks for reading this

ya i had the same problem months ago 1st i would check the vacum line under the battery you will have to remove it and the tray to check it out mine the cable actually broke on from corrosion. another thing i would check is the computer in the passenger side just front of the door there under the panel they sometimes get moisture in there and will make the selector goof up i have seen corrosion on a couple. hope this helps

got a new cable installed it ran it 4WD locks right in
found other proplems I will take care of come spring axle Seals are wet
oil filter hoses are wet ill replace all that when the season breaks

no problem glad to help my wifes blazer has done everything to me on this site one time or another
axle seals are easy but the oil filter hoses are a pain you will need a jack to lift the engine beacause the mount settle after time. theres a clamp right next to the power steering pump 10mm will take care of that and the oil hose remote fitting should be a 13mm good luck
