Hey all, new to the jimmy forums. I have a question, that is probably
. I am looking into a 2000 GMC jimmy from a local used car dealer, and the engine sounds great, but my concern is with the trans. I have read that these cars have issues with the transmissions, so here is what it is doing. When you start the car there is a humming that goes on for about 10-15 seconds and then goes away (while in park), and then while driving the trans seems to jump when shifting. It does not shift smooth at all, of course its less noticeable in the higher gears, but 1st and 2nd you can definitely feel the car's trans jump a tad when shifting. Ideas on whether this is a bad deal? I'm picking it up for around $1450, and currently has 162k on the odo.
Everything else ive seen on it looks good, belt was good, engine runs good, no oil leakage, engine oil looks great. I'm debating going back today to pick it up as I need something drive-able for the winter, so speedy replies are very appreciated!

Hey rich, yea that's my mentality at this point. But to be honest the rest of the truck looks in good shape, so for $1400 ill take the chance. I didn't get to check the tranny fluid, but a full flush and filter change is on my list of things to do once i get it, aside from a full tune up and brakes.
