Default 2005 Chevy Blazer stuck in 4HI - help??

Hey all,

Hoping someone can help me out.

The other night I was in 4HI, when I pushed the button to switch back to 2 wheel drive, all the lights on the 4x4 selector module went out. A few minutes later they came back on, and now I'm stuck in 4HI.

I checked all my fuses, bought a new 4x4 selector module but nothing has changed.

When I push a button - nothing happens. No sounds, no blinking lights, just... does nothing.

If anyone can give me some ideas on what could be the issue and what to check, I would REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks!!

It may be a faulty actuator. My older four wheel drives after swithing from 4 back to 2 I would have to back up around 50 feet as well.

Thanks, I thought about the reversing thing... but if something was stuck - would I hear any kind of sound when I push the button?

You should hear the transfercase engage and disengage

Well, I'm not sure what I did, but I got it working again.

I disconnected the battery, poked around at the actuator... poked around the controller in the passenger side foot space dealio. And when I put everything back together it works again!
