Default 4.3 only starts when using starting fluid.

My blazer will only start if I use starting fluid and now recently it wont go faster then 70mph and when I step on the gas the RPMs will only go to 2500 and struggles to gain any speed, any idea what this might be? Low fuel pressure maybe?

Think i'm just going to get a blow up doll to put in the front seat and leave my car running anytime I go out.

Classic symptoms of a fuel delivery problem. Do you have, or can you get, a fuel pressure tester? Most auto parts stores rent/loan them for free, and sell them for ~$40.

If it starts with starting fluid (which you shouldn't use), we know that it is getting a spark. So I would check the fuel delivery first. As you can see all over this forum, that is a major problem. You need to do a fuel leakdown test as a starting point. You check it at the fuel line port at the rear of the engine on the driver's side. Borrow a fuel pressure gauge from an auto parts store and hook it up. With your key ON engine OFF, you will hear your fuel pump for ~2 seconds. The pressure at the gauge must read 60-66psi. It must not drop below 55psi for at least 10 minutes. Do this after your engine has had a chance to cool down. Post your results.

Yeah gonna pick up a tester gauge, i'll let ya'll know what it reads when I get it, gonna change the filter too while i'm at it. I'm out here in Ohio where the winter has been the coldest and worst I've ever seen in my life time just need a good day to get under her. Thanks for the help.

Default Fuel pressure test results

At the engine port got 48psi after 10mins went down to 38psi

At the fuel line got 54psi after 10mins went down to 38psi

By "at the fuel line" you mean at the filter, (with the fuel delivery dead-ending at the test gauge) I believe from what I've read on this forum that confirms you need a new fuel pump. Go with only Delco or Delphi. Any other brand and you will be changing it again in the near future. You may want to get a confirmation from one of the experts on here like rriddle, Captain Hook, Swartlkk, Chris, New Guy, etc.

Yes at the fuel filter.

The pressures at the fuel filter are what the pump can supply to the service port. If you cycle the ignition a couple of times, the service port pressure probably would go up to 58psi. The fuel pressure regulator is normally closed, allowing pressure to build to ~62psi. At 58psi, the regulator isn't even opening, (not regulating pressure). A corroded or loose connection in the fuel pump circuit could cause low pressure readings, but it would not affect the leakdown, which is too low. As rockp2 mentioned, you most likely need a new fuel pump. Use AC Delco or Delphi only.

I used a jumper wire for both tests and the pressure dropped to 38psi within a minute or two after removing the jumper wire on both tests.
