i have a 98 s10 with vortec 4.3.needs motor found one,but it is a 95 vortec.other than the obvious intake difference can i use the 95?what do i need to change?if i can use that engine is the water pump rotation the same?any help would be great..

 

We just did a 98 4.3 2WD 5-speed X VIN S10nusing a 98 4.3 4WD Auto W 8th digit VIN from a Blazer. It went without event. Just Plug-and-Play using OEM wiring/computure.


While you have the new one out look at new pan gasket/rear main seal and the $80 felpro set for the top side.

 

i was just looking at both engines.the 98 looks to have throttle body,with 4 bolts that go straight up and down to bolt intake on,and the 95 looks to have injection unit on it with 4 bolts that go into the head on an angle.
