4.3 tbi and 4.3 vortec question????

can i use a 1990 s10 blazer tbi block from a z engine and 1993 s10 blazer vortec heads and intake to make a w engine ? the w engine has a cracked block? so i have a engine that is a z code that came out of my 90 s10 blazer..

I believe you should be able to.

Have a read through this:

I am curous about this too. But the years are a bit different. I want to use a '91 TBI 4.3 block & internals and a '96 Vortec 4.3 heads & intake. My concern is how the distributorless ignition system on the vortec will mate up. Any thoughts?

Both use a distributor. Neither are DIS.

The article liked to above should give some insight into this. Just look at the changes moving forward to the 95 model year.

The 4.3L is the only V6 GM still used with a distributor. One of the best V6 in the history of mankind IMO. It's a SBC with two cylinders missing.

No. It has a distributor as pointed out above.
