hey i have the 2.8 v6 in my 85 and i want to put the fuel injected votec 4.3 in it. like a 1993 s-10 4.3engine or something. is this a semi-easy job to do? or would i have to make a ton of modifications.

Have some patience... Geez...
A 2.8L is a 60* V6 while the 4.3L is a 90* V6. The transmission bolt patterns are completely different. So you'd need a transmission for a 4.3L to make it work.
If you were to find a v8 transmission, why not just go straight to a carb'd V8?

well because i dont want all that weight in the front, i want to raise it 6 inches and so on, i just want the extra power that the early 4.3 has. and i knew the bolt paterns were different on the trans so im exspecting to get an auto from the same vehicle that i get the engine from, if its good. so basically off the top of my head and the knowlage that i have about cars and trucks, i would need the full engine. and if it doesnt have a clutch fan, ill need the elect fan, and ill need the full computer of course becuase of the fuel injection... and ill need the tranny. so basically im asking, what else do i need to do, like are the engine mounts the same? will i have to cut room for the exaust manafolds? will i need to buy a new catelytic converter to pass smog? stuff like that. i have a brand new cat on this blazer with a2.5 inchsingle flow master, is that good enough? or will i have to go bigger?

motor mounts, fuel pump, wiring harness, transmission, radiator, trans cooler... Pretty much everything that's used to make the engine run, you'll need from the donor...
And a 350 will be pretty close in weight to the 4.3...

That's probably the easiest way to make sure you have all the parts...
Carb to carb is a whole lot easier than carb to FI... Heck, even FI to FI swaps can be annoying, unless you're going to a better condition version of the same engine...

It's electronically controlled... not so much computer controlled... It's an electric choke that the carbed 2.8 has.
I had an '85 S10, so I looked into all that...
