Default 40-65mph Lunges?!!!! I NEED HELP!!!!!

Hello Blazer Buddies, I have a 2000 Blazer and there has been nothing wrong with it until now. Around 40 to 65mph it it feels like it is lunging or surging forward. I do not have the A.C. on or anything else. It feels as if it looses power then regains power and lunges forward. That is the best way to describe it that I can think of. Any ideas as to what could possibly be wrong? I really need some help.

Thank you.

Michael

what is your engine rpm at? sounds like the rev limiter is kicking in.
other thing it could be is a clog in the exhaust... i had my cat break and i couldnt rev it too high of it would bogg out.

Well it is doing it at around 2000 RPM and it just stutters a little and if I give it some more gas it stops doing it. I'm stumped as to what it could be.

I run into a similar problem with my '99 blazer, but mine was starting to backfire at about 55 mph when my cruze was on. My intake gasket blew out, and when I replaced it the problem was solved (engine was sucking air through the gasket, making it run lean). Blazer intakes are known for going out so the could be your problem if the cap and rotor doesnt work.
