Hi guys, I have two issues I need some help with. 89 chev truck 5.7L, On top of the eng right behind the intake is a fitting with a sensor in it and a two wire plug, could this be a cam pos sensor?? my book shows a pic of it but doesnt identifyit as such. Have the timing set at 0 btdc, but the idle is too high, 1,000 and wont idle down untill I put it in gear and back to park. #2,, with the timing light on it I notice the light blinks rapidly at times, could a fault in the coil cause this??or maybe the ignition control module going out. I know thats usually not the case but maybe possible? Your threads are helpfull in lots of ways!! THANKS

Ive got a 01 blazer 4wd and took it mudding and got stuck tried to go from drive to reverse to rock myself out but after doin that a few times it started hesitating to go into drive and when you give it gas before it eases into gear rpms go up and slams into gear. What could be causing this?

Got my problem resolved. 3-4 clutches gone. Got a transmission off a friend for $200 and put it in and all is well. The book says 98 -2000 is compatible but the latter models will work by changing some connectors. I switched the ones off my old one. My new trans has about 110K miles on it so I was wondering if I should put some type of additive to prolong it's life? I changed the fluid, filter and flushed the cooler good to remove any shavings and contamination. Is there a additive or should I leave well enough alone? Thanks for all the help on this.

Alrighty so I have a 2005 chevy blazer with 150k miles well here is the thing I have been here this whining sound as if my torque converter was going bad well it wasn't all the time but most of the time u can hear it car drives fine gears shift perfect and starts nicely but the car decided to die on me.I can shift it into a gear but damn does it grind and will not go anywhere also does roll in park and when it went out I could hit the gas the the speedometer did go all the way up to 100 and the brakes were stiff..
I def need some more advice on this before I go in and rip out the tranny and replace the torque converter and that not be it!

Ive had My 4L60E rebuilt in the last year. I just recently started having issues. When I put it in drive it drops idle then idles rough for about ten to twenty seconds then it clears up. when I rev it sometimes it will slowly idle the RPMs down or the Rpm range stay at the high point of the rev. Ive changed all the sensors on the engine and throttle body sensors. is this something to do with the tranny?

first start by checking your t.p.s. sensor for a smooth reading on a scanner
