Already rebuilt transmission. Now goes into lock up in 1st and 2nd gears. Will come out of lock up when I push on brakes. Will not go into lock up in third or four. Anyone seen this, or have any suggestions?

 

Who did the rebuild? Was the transmission out of your vehicle or from a donor? I just browsed through my ATSG manuals and couldn't find anything close to your symptoms...

 

I have the same symtoms as you. Im wondering what it could be too. bad TCC switch maybe? or dirt in the screen?

 

I did the rebuild, did not replace pump. Found a crack in my filter after rebuild, replaced the filter. Still same problem. I should say it will not come out of lock up when I push brakes. Will not pull fluid out of pan until it warms up. Scanner indicates that I am pushing on brakes when I am not and says that I am not pushing on brakes when I am.

 

have you put a gauge on it to check the line pressure?

just curious, does your transmission want to lock up when your in reverse too?
