Trans has to be in neutral but still rolling (slightly) when you hit the 4WD LO button. Does 4wd lo button flash and then return to previous setting? Any clicks when you push the 4WD lo button?

Try this stuff and get back to us.

Glad it worked for you. I had read that out of my owners manual the first time I tried 4lo. I don't have much use for 4-lo, but I wanted to make sure it worked when I bought the vehicle.

I know you have to be in neutral, I dont think the rolling is necessary, I never was rolling when I engaged 4 low

Rolling was in my 2001 operator's manual if I remember correctly. I'll see if I can find it this afternoon as I have to travel between buildings anyway.

See sections 2-32 and 2-33 - preferred method is rolling 1-2 mph in neutral, but stopped in neutral is also mentioned.

yeh same here...i dont use 4Low very much but have only just bought the car & wanted to be sure it all worked. unfortunatly i didnt get the owners manual with the car so have to try things as i go & ask questions...being in Australia doesnt make things easy either. Like trying to get a lift kit for it, i contacted Rough Country about their kits but they wont ship to Australia.

I believe Summit will ship to Australia. Here's a couple of kits made by Superlift.

Are the lift kits legal in your State? Might want to check regulations before going to the expense and work.

p.s. I've been to Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane on business back in 2003 but never been to the West side.
