4wd working intermittently, please help!
I just bought a 92 S10 blazer with 2 button 4wd. I think it was the first year they offered push button 4wd.
When I got it the shift linkage was out of whack. When the gearshift was in park, tranny was in reverse, etc. I fixed that, but then the 4wd stopped working. I replaced the vacuum actuator switch on the t-case. And now, you push the 4wd buttons and nothing happens except when I'm in reverse, then they blink but nothing engages.
Then last week, it decided to work just fine. I shifted it repeatedly. All was well until I hit a bump and then it was back to not working at all. It is like the switch is dead except for when its in reverse.
Can anyone tell me where I should start troubleshooting at? It sounds like an electrical and not mechanical problem to me. Maybe something to do with the gearshift position and the previously bent gearshift linkage?
