Default 4x4 actuator is stuck in 4 hi

My 4 wheel drive is stuck in 4 hi, ive been thinking of getting an aftermarket actuator, and all ive found is dorman, i just wanted to see what you all had to say about that or any other aftermarket actuators? I just dont want to spend 350+ bucks on an OEM actuator, the dorman 600-900 actuator i found is around 117 bucks right now it looks like ill be going towards dorman, but like i said if you all know any others or better manufacturers please let me know!!!

There's a lot of reasons it could be stuck in 4WD. Have you gone through all the diagnostics? That's a lot of money to spend on hope....

The actuator is only a rubber bladder that uses vacuum to pul a cable to lock the pass side axle in for 4wd. When they fail the axle doesn't lock in.

I bet you have either a frozen cable from the actuator to the axle or a bad vacuum switch on the t-case.

Pull the vacuum line off the actuator, plug it so you don't have a leak, and see if that unlocks the front axle. If it doesn't with the line unhooked grab the actuator squeezing it and see if the cable moves back and forth.

hmmm ok, my dad had a new transfer case put in it too a couple of months ago, right now its out of 4 hi, my girlfriend pushed the 2 hi button and it went right in no problem so im not even messing with the 4wd right now lol, the service 4wd light comes on when i hit a big bump example railroad tracks at highway speeds, and when i go through water/mud or just going down a gravel road, what would be the most likely cause? thanks all for the help!!!
