Default 86 Blazer - injection or ECM problem??

Hi - We could really use some help tracing a problem. My son's 8 blazer was running fine until yesterday. He came back from a short trip, let the car sit for a half hour, and when he went to leave again it would turn over fine but not catch.

It runs as long as you dribble gas in the carb or spray starter fluid in, but dies when you stop giving it fuel. So it has spark.

I disconnected the filter to carb fuel line and gas comes out when you turn the key. Not a hard stream that shoots out, but steady burbling out, maybe a teaspoon a second? In any case, there is fuel making its way forward.

The filter is a large fram, installed 2 years ago when we bought the car. We replaced the fuel pump and wiring to it then also.

The car sat for 2 months in the Northwest spring, but started fine 3 days ago and we drove it several miles with no issues before it died.

So - any ideas on how to trace the problem? My bro-in-law suggested the fuel flow should be stronger and might be a blown hose inside the fuel tank at the pump? I'm a willing but untrained mechanic and we can't afford to hire one. I've done a head gasket job with a good tutorial before, but I'm clueless without instructions.

Thanks for any help.
Rick

Is there any kind of A/B test that could isolate ECM vs the injectors? Or that potentially split hose?
