Default 89 s-10 Blazer occasionally won't shift gears

This just started, when driving...everything is fine then go to shift gears and it will come out of whichever its in but then trying to put it in any other gear doesn't happen.

Pull over and turn off the engine, on restart (which seems to hesitate) I can get it into gear and it seems ok. Happened twice now.

Any ideas?

I wouldn't think shutting it of and resarting would do anything.
Have you tried double clutching?
Is the linkage loose and/or jamming?
Does this happen with a particular gear everytime, like 2nd to 3rd?

No, its all the gears, including reverse.

I have not tried double clutching yet...will try when I get home. Thanks

Sounds like the linkage may need adjusted or a possible worn fork. When you shift gears make a concious effort make absolutely sure its solidly shifted into the next gear. This may be hit or miss but If that helps its probably the linkage or shift fork.

Other possibles are a worn bearing or syncro.
