Hi,
new to the forum, i figured you fellas could help me way more than scouring the internet looking for a solution.
(BACKGROUND)
at the beginning of the year i started to hear a squeaking coming from the passenger side of my engine comp. I assumed it was my air conditioning pump.this gradually degraded till a few months ago i started hearing a scraping or some sort of friction based sound. again i just assumed it was the pump.(may not be related but better mention it than not)
two weeks ago after about 10 minutes of driving started to surge (rpms up then down in a cycle) then it eventually stalled. It eventually warmed up and i was able to drive it home.
(my irritation)
NOW every time i wake up in the morning i have to warm it up which takes about 30 minutes because it goes through the surge idle for about a half hour until it warms up. I can drive it at about 5 mph while it bucks and surges but this often leads to a stall. (putting it into gear does make it warm faster though)
(symptoms)
• surging RPM's when COLD both at idle and in drive
• while surging—occasional misfiring and black smoke
• runs fine when warm
(what I've done)
• cleaned then outright changed EGR valve
• cleaned then outright changed IAC valve
• cleaned throttle body & linkage
• checked for apparent vacuum leaks
• punched random walls in frustration
• cried my self to sleep
I have very little money so getting a computer diagnosis is a problem so I have no codes for you, I haven't checked for hidden vacuum leaks, but i assume if it was a vacuum leak it would be consistently bad warm or cold (please correct me if I'm wrong)
all symptoms point to IAC valve i just replace the harness on the IAC valve as there was damage to the conecting nodes and the plastic housing.
PLEASE HELP if you can i feel this is the best venue to vent my problem.
