93 blazer ecm code 42

hi i've got a 93 blazer 4.3 vortec have rough idle, low power, engine light on, and get code 42. heres what ive already done: replaced high dollar egr valve.. replaced IAC valve ... and replaced spider injectors ... all to no avail .... am pulling out what little hair i have ... if anyone can shed some light on this i will be eternally grateful

code 42 is a malfunctioning EST or electronic spark timing, could be a bad circut or just the distributor

ok thanks i have determined all that what im looking for is how to fix it ... ive spent $600 on it today alone and nothing has worked ... is it the electronic control module or something else ... ive replaced wires plugs dist cap and rotor as well as the other items mentioned above

thats all well and good .... but greek to me ... if its the EST where the heck is it to replace it? .... if its a module ... which one? ... the one near the left front of engine or is it like the OLD dists. and under the cap and rotor? i know beans about these new vehicles ( can rebuild older ones blindfolded)

ok guys so im an idiot and totally illiterate to the ways of these newer cars but can someone at least give me a way to get the list and location of all sensors and modules on this 93 S10 blazer? has the vortec V6 with engine code "W" .. tired of it nickle and diming me so ill just try to replace everything that has to do with sensors an modules

I have no info for a '93 but I found this on the internet. I hope it helps a little.

I just re-read the article and it looks like the hardest part of the job is removing the distributor cap. You also need a test light and I recommend an LED test light.

thanx ... have already replaced the ignition module ... discovered after removal it was dry .... now it will not start at all ... tried once to start and backfired then nothing .. yes plug wires are in correct order... now after $700 i have a decent set of mudder tires on a useless truck lol
