95 blazer tranny swap
Hello i have a question that i hope you all can answer. I have a 95 blazer that i bought from a friend for 400 bucks its in great shape it just needed a tranny. Well i had a 93 gmc jimmy sitting with a good tranny that i was going to pull that out and put in the blazer just to find out that you cant do it rats. My blazer and jimmy both have the 6 plug electrical on top of the pan. The jimmy just doesnt have a big enough shift rod to fit my electrical thing and my bracket from my blazer onto it. My auto parts store said they are a swapable item while i call a tranny shop they say no the valves bodys are not the same so i dont know what else to do but go to a junk yard and pull one. Is it easy to rebuild one the simptons i had with mine was always in drive gear so reverse was drive and netural was drive. So if i go junk yard my question is that 95 is a year specific tranny im cool with that but now if i go to the junkyard and find one in a s10, jimmy, astro van, blazer of that year then they are all the same right and if not how can i tell if its the right one i dont want to find a 95 thats really a "96" cause of model year change. Or is there a way to make a later model tranny to fit mine or not i think not cause of the current going to the tranny it said online. Well thanks alot and i hope you guys can help.
