Default 96 Blazer Cutting Out

I have a 96 Blazer and when it's hot out and i'm driving the truck will randomly die on me. I have to wait 30 to 45 minutes before I can start it again and drive it. At that point I can only drive it for about 5 minutes. When the truck dies no lights come on and all the guages are fine.

I haven't tried anything yet but I was looking for some suggestions.

ICM (ignition control module) and/or coil. Both can be susceptible to heat soak. The bad thing is that no one really carries the equipment necessary to test them anymore. It used to be that you could walk into just about any chain store and have them tested for failure, but no one around me does this anymore. If you have a buddy with a properly running 96+, you could swap these parts between the two trucks one at a time and see if there is any difference.

Unfortunatly i dont have a friend with a Blazer however if i take it to a mechanic should they try replacing the ICM prior to the coil or does it not matter?

Replace them yourself! They are both relatively easy to replace. The coil is the cheaper of the two.

A good mechanic would diagnose the issue before replacing anything, but good mechanics are getting harder and harder to find.
