Default 96 blazer tutns over wont run

my 96 blazer turns over and back fires through the intake and almost sounds like it wants to start but will not . 2 days ago i fired it up and it ran fine, i came back out three and a half hours later it wouldnt start it keeps back firing from the intake and when you turn it over it seems to hit a hard spot in compression or something all i know is it basicly stops turning over then turns over just fine (and dose that at random times while your turning it over) . the blazer is getting spark fuel and air . how its acting it almost seems like it jumped time but it couldnt have because the motor was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago and has ran very very good since so dose anyone have any ideas what it could be btw i have replaced the coil pack

Install an AC Delco distributor cap & rotor, (yes, it does make a difference). Put a dab of silicone dielectric grease on each terminal of the cap, inside and out.

Make sure the coil wire isn't shorting to ground while cranking. Easy to spot when it's dark out. Sure sounds like a bad cap though.
