Default 96 S10 Blazer

Hi, I recently picked up this blazer and am receiving a DTC P0753. I am preparing to replace both (A,B) shift solenoids. While the transmission pan is off i figured I might as well replace the filter as well.

While reading up on these procedures, I have heard that a lot of people were having trouble removing the pan from the vehicle(A lot of talk about having to remove cross members and "Y" pipes??). I was just hoping that someone could clarify for me what the exact problems were and how to get around them. I have looked all around the pan and it seems to be clear, but would like to hear from someone that has actually done it. I plan on starting this little project in a few days and would just like to know any tips to making it easier.

no just the crossmember the trans mounts on. the rear of the pan must be able to drop down without busting off the solenoids, the ones u r going to replace. just jack with wood under t case and remove member and ur totally fine then its easy after that.
