Default 97 Blazer 4x4 transmission issues?

Hey everyone,

I have a 97 Blazer Lt 4x4 with 188k on it. I recently bought this after my other vehicle was totaled. The guy I bought it off said it just had the transmission rebuilt it on and still has the warranty. Here's the list of my issues

1. During normal speeds tranny shifts fine, but it I floor it I get slippage between 2nd and 3rd to the point it will redline.

2. When cruising around 55 MPH sometimes the transmission will down shift and then shift back up for no reason. it does it smoothly but don't know why?

3. When driving up a incline and I have to give it some more gas my blower motor seems to slow down and my floor vents will open a little ( maybe losing vacuum somewhere?)

4. Whenever I back out of a space and put it in drive the truck bogs down a little bit when I take off forward. Nothing major just sounds like it's about to die for a second then drives fine.

5. When cruising down the highway I hear a noise coming from my right rear, kinda sounds like an off road tire.

The rebuild has less than a 1000 miles on it ,so should I take it back and get the shop to look at it?

I've been getting around 18 to 19 mpg so it runs good, only code I'm getting is a O2 sensor. I know this is alot but anybody got any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like you should take it to the shop since its still under warranty. A new tranny should not slip.

This is NOT normal - transmission has toasted clutch packs most likely . There are over run clutch and boost valve failures but flare and slippage is going , going gone burnt clutches . HAve You :
Checked Fluid color ? SMELL ? Level ?
Stop flooring it or hard parts will fail next ... (ABUSE=no warranty)

SORRY - just noticed that .... umm , OK . You might have sheared spider or ring gears in the rear then - the pinion gear slipping will act the same as trans slipping. Does it "clunk" going into reverse ? It's that or the forward sprag gear in the 4L60e gone

I've checked my fluid and it looks fine. It has started slipping more when it's still cold but starts shifting better once it gets warmed up.

It doesn't make any "Clunk" sounds when I put it in reverse so I think it my be the tranny making the noise.

Without anything substantial to go on , all anyone here can offer is advice based on past personal similar circumstance or 4L60E troubleshooter . Some of what You describe indicates the torque converter is not staying in lock-up mode . Noise from the rear end , something else . What color is the trans fluid ? Does it smell burned ? Have You dropped the pan to check the filter or pan magnet for shrapnel ? I would just take it to the place that rebuilt it and ask for an inspection and road test based on what You describe ... nothing to loose and verify seller story = win-win

I am having trouble with my '99 ZR2, it throws a code for a 2-3 shift solenoid, I replaced it and it still has no 1st gear, and i can manually shift it into 2nd and 3rd and it wont go into overdrive. Anybody have any suggestions as to why it wont shift?
