Default 97 blazer v8 swap ??

after blowing two 4.3 in two different blazer i came to the conlusing that i need something stronger from my bigger tires and off roading the 4.3 hasnt been puting up good for me

i first had a 4.3 bored .30 over from fatory with non vortec heads and a quadrajet 4 barrel carb and spun two bears main bearings at once in a 95 blazer

and second a tpi 4.3 with a hard rod knock in my current car i want to do the swap on these 97 blazer 5pd 2 door

i really want to do a 350 tpi or 305 tpi but i sorta leaning to 350 tpi

now i understand the 97 blazer computer has something different in it and and that if i want to do a 350 tpi swap i need to get the injection harness and splice it in and run new pins and then i would guess get the computer flashed

but is it possible to get like a 1997 tahoe sliverado or suburban 350 tpi and run that harness in it and/or can i use the computer from same 1997 doner vechicle with the v8 trims and will this have an effect on insection its Ob2 and in new york it has to be connected to the computer unlike 1995 Ob1

I'm not gonna be that big of help but at my work the boss has done a few newer engine swaps into old camaros. But he uses the engine and the trans out of those newer vehicles and he says you just use all the new cars electrical and computers. But with yours being newer I wonder how you sync everythine

Do some research, current performance sells complete wiring kits that are plug and play and can get what you all need. I am actually thinking of doing a ls1 one day when the 4.3L blows, if it ever does, or maybe I will get lucky and someone will smack my 2011 camaro and I can use the l99 out of it , but ya look at current performance. it is pricy but really it is wirth it not to have a head acke.

not sure what you mean by tpi, but tbi is throttle body injection, which is difficult to get working and definitly custom harness if not more headaches. tbi comes in full size trucks 88-95 probably not what is ideal. 5.7s in 96-99 trucks is what you want. also in full size vans up to 2002 i believe but not positive. wouldnt waste time on a 5.0 (305) either. you can flash your 4.3 ecm to run it, just have to repin fuel injectors, and of course add the extra wiring in for the 2 extra injectors. when you get engine, try to get harness for injectors as well. i got a complete donor truck for my swap, and i used trucks ecm as well. wiring was really simple. have to extend knock sensor wiring since there in different locations from 4.3 and 5.7.

newer ls based engines will require alot more to get working.
