So the other day I was driving home from work truck started losing power I was able to make it home. I noticed that then I was at stop lights it idled just fine, but when I would give it gas it would bog down and once I let off the gas it would backfire. I let the truck cool down, I went back out to start it and see if the issue was still there... The truck wouldn't even turn over and run (by turn over I mean the starter is fine the motor just wont fire off) I can hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key, the fuel filter was just replaced 3 months ago. I thought maybe it was spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor so I replaced all that today and still nothing. I'm at a little bit of a loss as to what it could be now, I'm thinking spider injectors or maybe the fuel pump just doesn't have the power to push enough fuel.

Do a fuel pressure and leakdown test. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Do the test with te key on, engine off. Your initial number should be about 60 to 65 and shouldn't leakdown below 55 within 10 minutes. Post back your initial number and 10 minutes later number.

I have no idea how to do a leak down test or the tools I will need to do it... If someone could tell me what I need to do the test and maybe pictures of how and what to hook the tools up to... I will do some Google searching in the mean time.

That should help. You can rent the gauge from autozone. Basically you leave a deposit and you get your money back when you return it.
