Default 97 wont engage until warm.

Here's the newest issue I'm having with my blazer. The trans won't engage ( or wants to and then slips) within the first 10 mins of starting it. After it warms up its fine. I want to check my trans fluid but the dipstick is really stuck. It's crimped shut right at the top where the tube first begins. Ive been searching for a post I read a while ago that was similar, but can't find it. Can anyone help?

What exactly do you mean crimped? Could you squeeze it the opposite way to uncrimp it? this could be one of those things where if you add more fluid to the tranny, it will remedy the problem.

Just a thought

Well not crimped,..... damaged. It kinda looks like a half moon. I was thinking of taking channel locks to it, but don't want to risk causing more of a problem. If this sound like it could be a fluid issue then ill concentrate on getting the stick out.

It could be something as simple as the fluid level, but without knowing the level, ya never know

Yea try to un crimp it just be carefull not to crack the dip stick . The dip stick tube is pretty easy part to fix theres only one bolt on the transmission bell housing then pull it out and slide the new one in . Make sure the tube gasket is in good shape to or it will leak .
