98 blazer 4x4 in and out of overdrive
#21
blazer073, that little bit of change could just be the PCM altering the TCC lockup for the conditions. 50mph is a 'tweener' speed where the TCC first starts to lock up when cruising, but may unlock given calculated engine load. Does it do this while you are running at say 55mph or 60mph on smooth level ground?

Both of you could have torque converter clutch issues, but to different degrees. It would probably pay to have it checked out by a competent transmission shop or two.

Thanks for the info Swartlkk. If you get yours checked before mine Shawn89 can you post the results? That video quality wasn't too shabby for a phone. I love my Droid!
It's off topic but, did the oil pressure and everything else look good?

my gf's bravada used to do that at 45mph first (the rpm needle would jump around 100-200rpm). running somewhat low on fluid. added a bit, it stopped, but started doing at 35mph (all at a constant throttle). i thought it was the tps acting up, but last week the truck started slipping in all gears (the trans line was leaking). fixed that, added fluid and came to find out she doesn't have overdrive anymore. is the torque converter completely messed up now? appreciate any help, guys!
